Confirmation Call

"Fear is the energy that contracts. Love is the energy that expands."

After reading my "Answer the Call" post yesterday, hubby and I had a brief discussion. It was good...enlightening. This morning, I received the above message, from my father-in-love. I was immediately blessed, so much so that I just cried in worship.
It was confirmation!

After sharing with others, I discussed the devotional with a dear friend. This conversation led to more revelations and more tears, more confessions and more confirmations; fear of failure being one. My friend shared the following, "It is His reputation on the line, not yours! Do you think He is going to ruin His reputation for YOU..."

 Confirmation Call RECEIVED!

I had not considered that I added myself to the equation.
When God gives you a vision, a dream, an assignment...He will then give the relationships and resources to complete it. Remove the fear.

"I sought the Lord, he heard my cries; and delivered me from all my fears."
~Psalm 34:4

Answer the Call

"...it sounds like life is calling you to do something BIG and you haven't picked up the phone."
~ ManifestYourPotential.com

(This'l FB post 2/24/15)

Ever been gut punched? Yep.
Ever been running scared? Absolutely!
In fact, my husband thinks that I am being chased by my calling.
I admit to nothing; loose lips sink ships. I will say that I may have mentioned some things that I would like to do and/or be apart of. Those things seem to change every few years...

I am going to make three lists...
The first will consist of dreams/jobs I've wanted to pursue.
The second will be of jobs that I have held.
The third will contain those things that have been spoken into my life.
By the end of this exercise, we shall reveal if hubby's "calling card" assessment is correct.

Previous Dreams
Corporate job (CEO)
Bank Teller
Own Sports Bar/Restaurant
Writer
Lawyer
Work with youth
   Previous Jobs
Teller
File Clerk
Cashier
Admin Asst
Bartender
Tutor
Prophesies
Financial Adviser
Author
Softball Player
Leader of Women (?)
Entrepreneur
Drill Sergeant
Party Planner

Outside of work, I have been involved in some ministries at church. I have worked in the children's department, served in the marriage ministry, and been involved in the youth department. Lately, I have been led to do other things. Instead of piling my plate high, I have taken a break - to hubby's chagrin. He is my 24/7 accountability partner, so I listen and understand. I value his input.
Whether he is right or wrong remains to be seen.

What is my calling? Am I running?
Life IS calling me to do something!
I will answer that call; just need to be sure He is calling.

Yesterday...

"Yesterday will be your tomorrow, unless you change today." ~Pamela Leigh Richards

It's Monday again!
Today marks the manifesting of my dreams.

My picture represents the above quote.
This was me yesterday.
I won't ever see yesterday again, while today is a day I've never seen before.
Though change typically doesn't occur overnight, we are made new daily.

I am not the person I was yesterday.
I was who I was, I am who I am.

Have a Marvelous Monday making your dreams reality.

Pray. Purge. Pursue.

FOL FRIDAY 2/20

Here is another edition of Fall Out Laughing Friday.

"Laughter is an instant vacation." ~Milton Berle

I have been battling serious headaches the past couple weeks. Parents nor spouse get a day off, so I fought through the headache to meet my obligations as such. While out with hubby, running errands for Kam's recital, on our way home the following exchange occurred:

Kam: Mommy turn the music up.
Me: Kam, wait a second, I'm talking to daddy.
Kam: Mommy can you turn the music up?
Me: Not right now Kam.
Kam: Okay mom, is a second up?
Me: Kam, no! I have a headache.

Kam: You have a headache? You were just laughing and talking. Give me a break *insert sarcasm*.
Hubby: Looks out window *insert silent giggle*
Me: Babe, get your daughter!
Kam: ...a headache...seriously?
Me: Kam I will stop this car and spank booty!
Hubby: (collects himself) *insert deep voice* Kam cut it out. I'm gonna pop you!
Me: SMH (laughing on the inside)
Hubby: in tears from laughter
Me: Dude, get yourself together!
Kam: *pouts*

That headache officially took a vacation...

Funniest thing I heard this week.

Pencil Points

"Your best teacher is your last mistake." ~Ralph Nader

Through the fire, hurts, & mistakes, life is still worth living. Pain, heart-break, nor mistakes  can be completely avoided; but they can be averted or lessened. The pain will not be forgotten, but a lesson will be learned from it.

How do speak about your pain?
How do you perceive your pain?

"Power, Pain
Pain, Power
They told me it would rain, but all I feel is showers.
And I know the enemy is trying to devour, but thank God for the Blood
because it never lost its Power."
(poem by Jimmie Gamble)

The pencil points have taught us to remain teachable, allowing Him to hold us, guide us, and mold us. Our mistakes can be corrected, but the pain cannot be erased. The marks left by pain will make you powerful; when you choose to keep living.

How sharp is your pencil? What are you writing?

Worry For What Wednesday

"People become attached to their burdens sometimes more than the burdens are attached to them."
~ George Bernard Shaw

Each of us has been there:
- assisting until you're tired.
- lending time, talents, & treasures.
 - showing up to support.
- giving our last.
- putting others needs before our own.
...all of this to have the love not be reciprocated?
"Chile Bye", is what we say; only to do it all over again LMBO.

Whenever you do something from the heart - no explanation is needed, nor should you have an expectation of receiving anything in return.
 A lesson we keep learning...

Take a deep breathe...
You are not alone.
You will be rewarded, no need to worry. You get what you give, even if not from those you gave to.

Love prevails. Worry for what?

Pray. Purge. Pursue.

Sisterhood

Dear Sassy Sisters,
We support, share, & shine, despite circumstances and life’s noise.
We pray, purge, & pursue together. A blessed future, we are poised!

You’re straight to the point. I like your style, confidence, and spunk.
It’s your number I dial when my spirits have sunk.

Whether far or near, I can always bend your ear.

With a heart of love, you listen with concern,
I consider this a gift; no hesitation when it’s my turn.

Our bond is unbreakable; founded on true sisterhood,
Sustaining ups & downs, helping through the ugly, bad and good.

Another transition for us to share – this journey - has become our cross to bare.

We were once partners in crime – sipping Tequila & lime…
Now for God’s journey, we are ready and primed.

Show me a woman that doesn’t have a past…
Through failures & triumphs, dreams & pains –
You remained apart of my supporting cast.

Judge nor jury was ever your role.
Right, wrong, or indifferent, ACCOUNTABILITY was your main goal.

Our bond is unbreakable – this is the truth.
I am like Naomi, you play the part of Ruth.

I appreciate our closeness, of it, I am very fond.
We are sisters everlasting; not by blood, but our bond.

Peace & Love.
Your Sassy Sister, Corie

U Knew Me When...

YOU KNEW ME WHEN???...

Fact of the matter is
I have changed again
I've evolved, emerged anew,
You knew me when?

You knew me when...
I had a jerry curl,
being called tar baby,
made me insecure lil girl

You knew me when...
I was the nerd
During grade school,
with my vision blurred

Maybe you knew me
before I had a child
no cares in the world
living worry-free & wild

You knew me when...

I reveled in worldly ways,
drinking many of those days
trying to numb my pains

You knew me when...
I didn't love myself,
allowing my dreams
to collect dust on a shelf

You knew me when...
I became his wife;
losing my identity,
greeting my new role with strife,

You knew me when...
Jeans, sneakers & tees, sports & baseball caps
were my only flavor
blind to the fact
of my demeaning behavior

All of this to say,
my life was a blast
I was who I was
but it's in my past
I am who I am
loving my supporting cast
becoming who He wants
because life happens fast
Prepping today for tomorrow
because forever doesn't last

I still have issues because God gave me a heart,
but it is Him that sustains me,
from His presence, I never want to depart.

Money Matters...

"It's not about what you make, it's about what you do with the money" ~ Me

Each year I revisit my cash flow management plan. In recent years, I detoured from my routine.
2015 will be my year to get back on track.

I pledge to do the following:
* PAY MY TITHES!!! (No explanation needed)
* Round up on mortgage payments each month (shorten loan life).
* Clip coupons (I just cringed).
* Drink Dunkin Donuts coffee rather than Starbucks (I ain't giving up coffee completely).
* Brew my tea at home/office.
* Avoid ATM machines that charge me a fee (I refuse to pay to get my money).
* Stash money in an IRA (I'm gonna retire one day).
* Save in an unmarked account (some where I have no access).
* Buy fewer pairs of shoes (Jesus take the wheel) #MyWeakness.
* Create my vision board.
 * Review my insurance policies & premiums.
 * Secretly give to others in need.
